Oil changes are a necessary part of vehicle maintenance. Depending on your type of vehicle, the kind of oil it needs, and how frequently you drive, you will need to change your car's oil 2 – 6 times a year. All of these oil changes can get expensive over time, especially if you drive a car that needs full synthetic oil. Thankfully, there are a lot of auto shops that offer oil change coupons that can give you a discount on the service and can include other services for free that you would otherwise have to pay for like tire rotations, brake inspections, and so on. These offers can save you money on the oil change itself and can end up saving you even more money in the long run as you won't have to pay for useful services that would need to be performed on your car anyways. The problem with coupons is that they are only good for a short time – usually a month or two for these types of services – so be sure to double check expiration dates. The following is a list of well-known auto shops that will often offer coupons on oil changes:
1 – Midas
Midas offers a coupon that will let you get your oil changed for $24.99. Unfortunately, this only applies to conventional oil changes so it won't do you any good if your car needs partial or full synthetic oil. You will need to pay a disposal fee in addition to the $24.99, but Midas throws in a lot of extras with their oil changes such as tire rotations, fluid checks, engine air filter checks, and brake inspections for no extra charge.
2 – Pep Boys
Pep Boys offers a few coupons that can help discount the price of an oil change in a couple different scenarios.
- They offer a $10 off coupon for a conventional oil change (non-synthetic) when using Quaker State oil.
- For synthetic oil changes, Pep Boys offers a $20 off coupon for a Pennzoil synthetic or high mileage synthetic oil change service. They also have a coupon that will give you $10 off a change when using high-mileage or semi-synthetic Pennzoil oil.
- For more synthetic options, they also offer a $20 off coupon when using Mobil 1 synthetic oil during an oil change.
Pep Boys also offers complimentary checks with their oil changes. This includes checks on fluid levels, air and cabin filters, break systems, lighting systems, battery and hoses, and more.
3 – Valvoline
Valvoline has 2 standard coupons that are offered across their locations, though there may be more coupons available at specific stores and locations. For those you can always visit their website to see if there are any offers specific to stores near you. In the meantime, they do offer a $5 off coupon for a full-service conventional oil change, and $7 off a full-service full synthetic or synthetic blend oil change.
Valvoline is unique in that they offer "drive thru" oil changes that let you stay in your car while the oil change and maintenance checks are being done. This way you can see for yourself how your car is being handled and know if it is being taken care of properly. The complimentary maintenance check includes a windshield wiper inspection, fluid level check, and a battery test.
4 – Firestone
Firestone is best known for its tires, but they offer a variety of auto care and maintenance services as well. They currently offer $10 off coupons for standard and high mileage or synthetic blend oil changes. For full synthetic oil they have a coupon that will get you a $10 prepaid Visa gift card. Though this isn't technically a discount on the oil change itself, it will still leave you with an extra $10 you wouldn't otherwise have. Firestone includes a few additional services like fluid level checks, filter inspections, and checks on your car's lights and battery. They also have a nice feature on their website that lets you find the oil you need before you get to the shop by entering information about your car's make, model, and manufacturing year.
