To many people, spending some time on the beach makes for the perfect vacation. A wonderful vista in front of you as you sip a drink and soak in the sun can make for a picturesque moment. A beach vacation is one of the best vacations available to help reduce the stresses of regular life. Of course, getting to the beach for a nice vacation can take some effort. For people who live near the beach, perhaps there’s less excitement when going away to spend time on one. But for those who don’t have immediate access to a beach, there are hundreds and thousands of beautiful beaches across the world that have unique sands and views. It’s impossible to see them all, but traveling to a beautiful beach is certainly an obtainable vacation goal. Unsurprisingly, most of the best tropical beaches are located on island nations or areas near the equator. From there, you can choose your favorite location or potentially a new place you’d like to visit. Just make sure that you’re doing your beach vacation correctly!
Vacationing at a Beach House:
An obvious choice if you really love the beach is to find a beach house to rent during your vacation. This can be accomplished through apps like VRBO or Airbnb. It’s important to make sure that you vet the location before booking. While most are going to be legit, occasionally there may be some sort of scam.
The advantages of a beach house should be apparent. To start, you’re right there on the beach. This means that you’re going to get the advantage of the view whenever you want it. You’ll also be able to quickly head back and wash up if you end up with some sand in some uncomfortable areas. Beach houses can offer as many rooms as are needed and often full services like a working kitchen and laundry. What’s surprising may be the price of beach house rentals. Many are quite affordable.
Making the Most of Time At the Beach:
If you’re heading out to the beach, you want to make sure that you’re ready for the day so you don’t come back to your room feeling burned or unfulfilled. Start by collecting the things you’re going to need to stay healthy. Start with a strong sunscreen of high SPF. While people want to tan, it’s better to be careful and avoid a dangerous burn that could ruin the rest of a vacation. Include something that can provide shade. This will probably be a beach umbrella, but could be an awning or other item. Water is crucial to any beach trip to fight potential dehydration. It’s also often good to have something with electrolytes in case too many are lost during the day. Another item needed is a large towel or chair to help keep you off of the sand at times. Sand is nice, but it sticks! You can even get a rash from rubbing against it the wrong way.
After taking care of the essentials, it’s time for entertainment. The great part about the beach is that you can do whatever makes you happy. Want to lay around and read a book? That’s certainly possible. If you enjoy watersports, you can bring your equipment. Many beaches will have vendors who rent out watersports equipment so that you don’t need to bring it all the way with you on vacation. Entertainment is very individualized, so it really is up to each person to know what they love to do.
Popular Beaches:
There’s a lot of famous beaches around the world that you could visit and have a great time with. Some are hidden away, while others are part of major cities. Some of the most popular ones out there include:
Rio De Janeiro – The Copacabana may be the most famous beach in the entire world. Located in Rio De Janeiro, there’s many a song that talk about the wonderful Copacabana. You’ll see thousands of people enjoying the beach throughout your visit.
Hawaii – Hawaii is packed with a huge number of wonderful sand beaches and has some of the best surfing in the world. What’s more, the volcanoes and lush scenery add a wonderful background when you aren’t checking out the ocean.
Maldives – The Maldives is one of the world’s most luxurious beach locations. The sand beaches are soft on the feet and there are some incredible lagoons where you feel like you can see right to the bottom without an effort.
Philippines – Not enough people recognize how beautiful the Philippines (and many other southeast Asian countries in general) are with their beaches. The one downside is that you need to make sure you avoid them during Monsoon season from May to around October. You can mix luxury beaches with hidden gems here.
Obviously these are only a few locations that have beautiful beaches. You can find plenty in the United States if you’re looking to travel more locally.
